Three Qi Balls Part 4

Middle Dāntián 中丹田

If we continue to develop the first internal Qì 氣 ball, which is inside the body, when the Qì strong is enough, it will rise up to the middle of our chest to the Middle Dāntián 中丹田. The Tān Zhōng 膻中point on the chest is where the Middle Dāntián can be found. When the Middle Dāntián is strong, all our internal organs become stronger, we will feel warm, breathe better, be calmer and less emotional. Around the Tān Zhōng point there are other points which relate to the Middle Dāntián. Either side are the Dà Bāo 大包 points, below there is the Zhōng Wǎn 中脘 point, up at the throat is the Tiān Tū 天突 point, at the back of the neck is the Dà Zhuī 大椎 point, at the centre of the back is the Shén Dào 神道 point and on both sides of the chest are the Qì Hù 氣戶 points. All these points relate to the Middle Dāntián and form a circle. In any Qìgōng 氣功, if we move the chest up, down, left or right as well as rotating the body, like in Balancing Gong’s 平衡功Big Bear Stretching 巨熊伸腰 or Healthy Living Gong’s 健康生活功 Caterpillar Stretching毛虫展伸 and even in the Wild Goose First 64 大雁氣功前64 Looking for Food尋食, these all help to develop the Middle Dāntián and also create the second internal Qì Ball.
