Liù Zì Jué 六字訣 – Six Sounds – Part 4

The next sound is Hū 呼. Hū is good for the Spleen and so the movements are around the area of the spleen.

We stand still with our feet shoulder width apart and the knees bent. The hands are level the Dāntián 丹田, which is also the level of the spleen. We then bend the arms and turn the palms to face each other, and then start to make the Hū sound. Remember the sound comes from the internal body. We then start to straighten the legs and turn the palms outwards. All of this happens simultaneously until we have no more breath to make the Hū sound. By now the hands should be open on both sides with the palms facing out, the legs straight and relaxed. This movement and sound are very good for the spleen. We can then breathe in through the nose and bring the hands back to the Dāntián level with the palms facing each other. The knees gradually bend, until we are back to the original position. We can then repeat the same movement and sound about 10 times
