If we only practise one skill, we will benefit our health, particularly if we do Dàyàn Qìgōng 大雁氣功 as this is just for our health. However, if we only practise Wing Chun Kung Fu 詠春功夫, Chùn Yuén Quán 俊元拳, Hard Qìgōng 硬氣功, Chén Tàijíquán 陳家太極拳 we will also learn Kung Fu – fighting skills. All traditional Chinese Kung Fu will make us healthy because they all have some aspect of Qigong training in them, even Dàyàn Qìgōng has some fighting forms in it, like Dàyàn Fist, Dàyàn Palm and Dàyàn Sword, but when Dàyàn Qìgōng passed out to the public my Sifu, Grandmaster Yang Meijun 楊梅君, concentrated on health, and so, when I teach Dàyàn Qìgōng I also focus on health. If we only practise Dàyàn Qìgōng, then we will gain great benefits for our health as it covers internal and external training.

If we practise Chùn Yuén Quán we will also gain good health, but we will reach it in a Chùn Yuén way. If we look at Chùn Yuén Quán we can see that it is faster and more dynamic and the positions and movements are different. By learning them it means that we will have more ways to gain good health. If we can find two ways to make us healthy, then we make ourselves even healthier. If we think about it, if we know five styles, that means we know five ways to make ourselves healthier, and this means that we can reach a very good standard and be super healthy!
