Five Skills – Part 7

photo Teaching Balancing Gong

If we practise all five skills, then in the morning we can practise Chùn Yuén Quán 俊元拳, in the afternoon we can practise Wing Chun Kung Fu 詠春功夫, at sunset we can practise Hard Qìgōng 硬氣功 and at midnight we can practise Chén Tàijíquán 陳家太極拳 and Dàyàn Qìgōng 大雁氣功. So, we then can practise all five skills in a day. We do not need to practise for an hour or more as no one has that kind of time, so instead we can practise to five to ten minutes or sometimes half an hour. Sometimes we can eve skip one or two skills. If we can only practise twice a day, then on one day practise Tàijíquán and Qìgōng, on another day Chùn Yuén and Wing Chun and sometimes Hard Qìgōng. From time to time we should also change the times we practise so the morning could be Tàijíquán and Qìgōng, sunset Hard Qìgōng and Wing Chun, midnight Chùn Yuén Quán. If we have five skills, we need to fix a timetable and then after two or three months we should change it. We should not fix a timetable for ever as our bodies need to be challenged and get used to different weather, locations and times. Then we can fully benefit from these skills and connect with nature’s Qì 氣. So, sometimes we need to be fixed and sometimes we need to be flexible.
