Levels of Qì Development – Part 3

After we can feel the Qì, we should keep practising. This is like saving money to buy a house when you do not have enough money right now, so you need to keep saving more. The next level of Qì Development is feeling to location of the acupuncture points. The most obvious point is the Láogōng 劳宫穴, which is at the centre of the palm. We must remember, when we practise Qìgōng 氣功 we will find the location of the acupuncture points is different to the location of them shown on an acupuncture chart. This is because Qìgōng practitioners have more Qì than ordinary people, whose points are smaller, and as their Qì is weaker it goes a slightly different way. Qìgōng practitioners’ acupuncture point are bigger and have more Qì to flow through the body. It is like a mountain with water running down a stream, when there is a ordinary amount of water the stream will its ordinary path. A Qìgōng practitioners’ Qì is much stronger and so it is like there is a large amount of water flowing down the mountain, then the path of the stream will be different and straighter as it will flood out or its usual path. So, when our Qì is strong, we can feel our acupuncture points like the Hégǔ 合谷穴, Qìhǎi 氣海穴, Huántiào 環跳穴, Yǒngquán 涌泉穴, etc.
