Feeling the Acupuncture Points
How do we know that acupuncture points are open? This is a very good question. Before we can answer it, we must first understand what the acupuncture points are. The acupuncture points are areas on the body that are very sensitive for our Qì 氣. Through these areas Qì can enter the body and also release out from the body. Of course, to do this we must already understand the feeling of Qì, if you cannot feel your Qi then you will have no feeling of the acupuncture points. If we practise Qìgōng long enough and we can feel the Qì, then we can think about making the acupuncture points open. The next thing we must be able to do is to relax enough. When we are relaxed then we are sensitive and if we practise our Qìgōng 氣功 then we will be more sensitive than those people who do not practise. When we have enough Qì and are relaxed enough, then we will begin to feel the stronger acupuncture points, like the Láogōng 勞宮, Hégǔ 合谷, Yǒngquán 涌泉 etc. Why these points first? This is because we use these points more often and so after we have been practising for long enough, then we will feel these points. This means that they are more open. It is like when you first meet someone, to begin with you are stranger, but after a few years you become very close friends.
