Five Elements People – Part 4

Wǔxíng 五行 – Five Elements

There are two relationships between each of the Wǔxíng 五行 – Five Elements, one creating and one controlling. Wood creates Fire, we can easily see this. Fire creates Earth, after a fire the soil has more nutrients. Earth creates metal, we have discovered some many materials in the Earth, particularly different metals which we use every day. Metal creates water. If we place a piece of metal outside, it will rust because metal attracts water. Metal gets cold easily and water condenses on it. Water creates Wood, like water the plants to allow them to grow. So, each element has another element that creates and helps them. They also have he opposite, an element that controls them. Metal controls Wood, like an axe chopping wood. Wood controls Earth, the plants take the nutrients from the soil. Earth controls Water, the Earth can hold back Water from flooding the low ground. Water controls Fire, water can put out fire. Fire controls Metal, fire can melt metal.

Every element has one element that helps it and another that holds it back, that is balance, that is nature.
